Functioning principle

A small amount of salt is added to water beforehand. (2,5 grams of salt per liter are dissolved in the pool water). Salt electrolysis takes place in the cell equipped with two electrodes Anode and Cathode placed on the filtration line. During the process the ions of sodium hypochlorite are created and act as disinfectants to keep the water clear of algae and bacteria. These ions of sodium hypochlorite then recombine under the influence of UV sun rays. A small quantity of salt must always be added to water at the beginning of the season taking into account that some water will evaporate or will be lost due to backwashing or bleeding off.
To prevent corrosion of metallic parts of the pool or even watches and jewellery you wear while bathing, the electrolyzed water must be freed from micro currents. This is obtained by the cell being earthed. The inversion of polarity should be done to avoid calcium mineral deposits from being formed on the electrodes. The system is designed so as to allow the electrodes become alternatively, either anode or cathode. This way the electrodes avoid calcium mineral deposits accumulation and the cell is maintained clean.
