Functioning principle

A small amount of salt is added to water beforehand. (2,5 grams of salt per liter are dissolved in the pool water). Salt electrolysis takes place in the cell equipped with two electrodes Anode and Cathode placed on the filtration line. During the process the ions of sodium hypochlorite are created and act as disinfectants to keep the water clear of algae and bacteria.
These ions of sodium hypochlorite then recombine under the influence of UV sun rays. A small quantity of salt must always be added to water at the beginning of the season taking into account that some water will evaporate or will be lost due to backwashing or bleeding off.

To prevent corrosion of metallic parts of the pool or even watches and jewellery you wear while bathing, the electrolyzed water must be freed from micro currents. This is obtained by the cell being earthed. The inversion of polarity should be done to avoid calcium mineral deposits from being formed on the electrodes. The system is designed so as to allow the electrodes become alternatively, either anode or cathode. This way the electrodes avoid calcium mineral deposits accumulation and the cell is maintained clean.

POOL PILOT overview

Control unit: Control command allows permanent chlorine level supervision. It is to be placed on a vertical surface without exposing it to humidity or heat. Specially designed with frost and thunder protection. 2 types of command controls are available: A: Digital Touch B: Soft Touch - (Extra bright fluorescent digital read-out display)

POOL PILOT digital salt chlorine generator : 1. STRAINER SCREEN: The strainer screen prevents debris in the water from entering the Tri-Sensor or SuperCell and requires periodic inspection and cleaning. 2. TRI-SENSOR: Sensor to monitor three principal elements necessary for the functioning of the Pool Pilot: - Appropriate water flow (3,4 m³/h) - Quantity of salt comprised between 2500 - 3500 ppm (2,5 - 3,5 gr/l) - Ideal temperature superior to 10°C for best chlorine production 3. ELECTROLYTIC CELL: The Electrolytic Cell receives low tension current provoking process of electrolysis. It transforms salt into pure sodium hypochlorite which purifies the pool. 4. AUTOMATIC REGULATION VALVE: By-pass valve to monitor automatically the water flow and to optimize the Pool Pilot system.

It is essential to connect the Patented By-pass Manifold downstream of all other equipment (electric heater, filter, ect.)

Pool Pilot system is connected into the pool plumbing through the Patented Automatic-Flow Bypass Manifold. It is recommended that the manifold be installed prior to installation of the control unit. Tri-sensor cable and SuperCell cables included. The Control Unit will need to be installed close enough to the Manifold Assembly so that the Tri-Sensor and SuperCell Cables (12’ = 30.48 cm long) will have enough slack so that the cables can be serviced easily.
